Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.
but would that count on the simpsons?
or does anyone know anything i can do to get it back?
You have two questions.
Your first question is the fair use question. Fair use is a defense to copyright infringement. Fair use is a legal determination based on at least the 4 factors outlined in Section 107. Posting full episodes of a copyrighted program on Youtube is not fair use.
In any case, the above analysis is irrelevant. Youtube is not a court and cannot determine whether your use is fair use. If the copyright owner makes a request to Youtube to take down a video, Youtube tends to side with the copyright owner, especially when it is a large company.
Your second question relates to whether you can get your account back. This is not a legal question, and your best bet is to ask Yahoo yourself.
