If you are/were an international student in U. S. , please help. . . ?

I’m an 18-year-old Chinese girl, and I came to the U.S. to study in a college in New York State last fall.
My family never approves my plan of studying in the U.S., and they’ve cut off their financial support. I won’t have enough money to even survive this year. Although I got a half-tuition scholarship from my college, I still have to pay a lot.
I can’t afford to continue at my current college and have been applying to transfer. I can only attend schools that offer a full-ride scholarship to me, but such chances are really slim.
Could I find sponsors or outside grants? How? I don’t even know where I’m gonna be this summer. Could I study abroad on a full scholarship?
I would really appreciate your telling me any means that I can continue to stay in the U.S. Thanks a lot!!!

To maintain your student visa, you must prove that you have the financial resources to cover all of your tuition, fees, living expenses, etc. and transportation home. Transferring will require change to your student visa – so check your visa status before you transfer. Foreign students generally are not eligible for financial aid; there is far too little of it available for US-born citizens who need it. Furthermore, scholarships generally do not include all of your expenses — you do need money, and you are forbidden to work on a student visa.

Students do not get sponsors. Your best bet for scholarships and financial assistance was your own country’s government, your parents’ employers, etc. Whatever you do, make sure you have a plane ticket home. You do have good schools available at home and in Hong Kong.
